Dua tahun setelah merilis salah satu album death metal terbaik yang pernah muncul dari Belanda,
Pestilence kembali mendapatkan jackpot dengan album 1991 mereka.
album “Testimony of The Ancients”.
Perbedaan terbesar dengan upaya mereka sebelumnya "Consuming Impulse" sederhana:
Produksinya lebih banyak, bersih, intermezzo pendek di antara semua lagu,
kecepatan rata-rata lebih rendah dan Patrick Mameli telah mengambil alih vokal utama.
Pestilence telah mendapat tempat yang layak di gelombang pertama death metal elite,
disebutkan dalam satu napas dengan orang-orang seperti Death, Sepultura, Cynic, Atheis dan sejenisnya.
Memang benar, karena perkembangan mereka hingga album ini sebanding dengan, katakanlah, Carcass.
Dengan setiap album yang mereka kembangkan, sound yang terdengar tidak ada yang sama,
tapi tetap saja kita tahu itu Pestilence dan tak dapat disangkal
